Brandon Wade who is running for the 2nd District Congressional seat against Josh Brecheen, said this morning’s mass shooting at Apalachee High School in Winder, Georgia where two teachers and two students were killed and at least nine others were wounded is another outrageous example of our current do-nothing Congress. We need more than “Let’s keep the families of the victims in our prayers.” So far this year there have been 45 school shootings. Overall, since the year began, a total of 527 people have been killed and 1,755 people have been wounded in 432 mass shootings. How many more shootings do we need before we demand tougher gun laws.
We need sensible gun laws such as total adherence to universal background checks, and we need strong “Red Flag laws” that allow intervention when there is even the possibility of someone going off the right path. Allowing police to investigate someone who appears to be having some kind of mental breakdown reported by family members, social workers, friends, fellow employees, supervisors, mental health providers etc. It also should allow them to petition a judge for a court order to temporarily remove firearms when there is clear evidence an individual is experiencing a temporary crisis, poses an imminent risk of harm to themselves or others, and has a firearm. During the duration of the order the person would be prohibited from purchasing a firearm.
“Let’s pray for the victims” are the kind of responses from the Josh Brecheen’s of the world, because he will not go against the gun lobby or the NRA. I believe in the Second Amendment as much as anyone, but I know there are things we can do to keep our children safe at school. That does not include arming teachers with even more guns in school. Think about the phycological trauma that the students at Apalachee High School experienced yesterday. They and their families will carry mental scars for the rest of their lives. This is just plain wrong, and we need to ACT not Talk.
“It is often said that a crazy person does the same thing over and over again expecting a different outcome each time.” That is exactly what Republicans in Congress are doing and so is Josh Brecheen. Brandon Wade said, “Put me in this congressional seat and I will act to pass sensible gun laws without interfering with the publics right to own a gun.” We need Brandon Wade in Congress.

BARTLESVILLE – Democrat Congressional candidate Brandon Wade is calling out his Congressional opponent for his hypocrisy on the issues listed on his webpage. He states that “We must reduce Washington’s influence in our daily lives” yet he supports a government ban on a woman’s right to choose her own health care.
Brecheen brags that he helped end “Common Core” in education for Oklahoma and says there is no role for the Federal Government in Education. Oklahoma ranks 49th in Education and Health Care out of 50 states. Great Job Brecheen! He also supports State Superintendent Ryan Walters who is turning our educational system into a MAGA political arm in Oklahoma so he can show he is a complete MAGA Trump supporter. And so is Brecheen.
Brecheen’s answer to inflation is “Stop government’s runaway spending.” Yet he supported Trump’s tax break to the richest people and corporations in the country. The national debt rose $7.8 trillion during Trump’s time in office. That’s nearly twice as much as what Americans owe on student loans, car loans, credit cards and every other type of debt other than mortgages, combined, according to data from the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. It amounts to about $23,500 in new federal debt for every person in the country, according to ProPublica. Do MAGA Trump supporters ever tell the truth or are they just like him, lie your way out of anything.
When it comes to Medicare he also speaks with a “fork tongue”. Project 2025 is clear that it wants to eliminate Social Security and Medicare and if you support Trump, which he does, you support cutting social security and Medicare. Project 2025 also calls for a national ban on abortions which Josh Brecheen also supports. Josh Brecheen is not good for Oklahoma and not good for the 2nd Congressional District in Washington. We need people there that tell the truth, have not lost their sense of ethics, and who support the Constitution of the United States of America and our Democratic Republic. Project 2025 turns a new Trump administration into an Authoritarian Dictator modeled after Trump’s recent visitor in Mar a Lago, Viktor Orban. Wake up Oklahoma we can do better than this.
Brandon Wade is committed to do whatever it takes to support the Harris/Walz democratic ticket and get our government back to decency and ethical thinking in Washington. We need to continue a government that works for the real working people in this country like President Biden has done, not the ultra- rich who already have more than they can ever use, but still want more and more. Let us continue to support infrastructure, health care, childcare, and all of those things that have us living in the best economy in the entire world.
